The Bourlaschouwburg will host the welcome reception on Thursday evening (12 June) and offer guided tours of the theatre.
Day 1 of the conference (13 June) begins with an excursion to the famous La Monnaie opera house in Brussels and a visit to the scale model of its old but now vanished stage machinery, followed by six lectures in Antwerp.
Day 2 (14 June) offers 10 lectures all day round – never before have so many experts from so many countries had a word on historic stage machineries!
Day 3 (15 June) concludes the event with extensive open debates on the topic until lunch time.
The conference language is English.
The event is organized by York University, OISTAT, and Theatreurope.
